Jason Bennett has been awarded the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award by the US Metaverse Association, in recognition of his longstanding leadership and influential role in advancing the foundational structure, governance, and real-world integration of metaverse technologies.

Honored at the Association’s annual conference in San Francisco this April, Mr. Bennett was recognized for over two decades of contributions to the design and deployment of metaverse-enabling frameworks that have bridged the gap between virtual environments and enterprise, education, and public service applications. His work has impacted not only platform design and interaction models but also the policy ecosystems necessary for secure and scalable metaverse adoption.

Throughout his career, Mr. Bennett has served as a strategic advisor to multiple multinational organizations, contributed to the drafting of global interoperability standards, and led joint task forces focusing on digital identity, virtual commerce, and metaverse risk governance. His initiatives have shaped public-private partnerships and cross-border regulatory collaboration in both the United States and abroad.

Mr. Bennett has also been instrumental in promoting ethical infrastructure development and systems alignment between virtual and physical identities. His early advocacy for privacy-first avatar protocols and adaptive governance mechanisms has informed the direction of major public sector initiatives related to digital sovereignty and immersive data protection.

The Lifetime Achievement Award represents the highest individual honor presented by the US Metaverse Association and is awarded to those whose lifelong work has meaningfully shaped the long-term evolution and public value of the metaverse. Jason Bennett’s vision, discipline, and commitment to responsible metaverse development have left an indelible mark on the field and continue to guide future generations of technologists, policymakers, and designers.

He will join fellow recipients in October 2025 at the Global Metaverse Innovation Summit in Palo Alto, where the Association will commemorate this year’s honorees.
